Brickfield U14 Girls - Well Done

Well Done to Brickfield's Under 14 Girls
Tesco Cup Regional Final Winners
Buckley 0 Brickfield 1
TESCO WELSH NATIONAL FINALS 2010/11
U14 Girls acquitted themselves superbly in their first Major Tournament. After a slow start with narrow defeats, they then remained unbeaten for their last three games, and in fact held the Champions - Mardy Tigers - to a draw in the last game. The positive aspect is that most of this team will have another crack at this Competition next season as they are so young, IF they win our Area Final.

Report by Ed Pasco of Brickfield Girls

Brickfield U14 girls travelled to Newtown at the weekend as winners of the North East Wales region to compete in the Welsh finals of the Tesco cup. The Tesco cup is competed for by all the Welsh regions and the winning team goes on to play in the all UK finals.

Brickfield Rangers had to play 5 games on the day and competed very well in a format unfamiliar to the players. They lost the first 2 games, both by one goal in games that could have gone either way. Having got used to the 10 min each way format the girls improved, drawing 2 and winning 1 of the next 3 games.

It was a great experience for the girls and as most of the team are only 12 years old we hope to return next year with a more experienced team and win the trophy.

Well Done - NEWFA Course Success

The happy and successful candidates who recently passed the

NEWFA Laws of the Game Course

held exclusively for Girls/Ladies at Brymbo Sports Complex.

With this season's introduction of a Welsh Premier Ladies League, it was great to see so many on the course and they all passed with flying colours.
