£1280 Boost to Our Club
A SQUAD of young footballers has received a major boost with a donation of more that £1000. Brickfield Rangers FC, a Wrexham club with more than 300 members with ages ranging from six to 16, will now be able to buy training equipment, goalposts and footballs and pay for two volunteers to obtain their coaching qualifications.
The £1280 donation came from the Co-operative's Community Fund, which last year donated more than £1 million to community groups.
Club Secretary John Nuthall said the money would make a big difference to the whole club. He said "We would like to say a huge thanks to the Co-operative."
The Co-operative secretary in Wales, Mike Ash-Edwards, said: "The Community Fund can make a real and lasting contribution to local communities and we are delighted to have made this award to Brickfield Rangers FC."
